Monsters 2-0 FC London

Tuesday 6th May - MLF Round 8
Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough, England

Middlesbrough Monsters pulled off a stunning 2-0 upset of FC London to stop the Superhoops from getting top spot in the table.

Bobby Bricke scored a delightful free-kick for the one-nil.

And then Quique Sánchez doubled the lead after a great through-ball from Darren Watkinson.

And believe it or not, this was the Monsters' third game in only six days.

Geordies 2-0 London United

St. James' Park, Newcastle, England

Goals from Steven Tweedy and Dick Jackson condemned London United to their second defeat of the season as the Newcastle Geordies stunned their visitors 2-0.

This game was the second part of a St. James' double header with Newcastle United losing 2-0 to the Chelsea Football Club earlier in the day.

Pirates 1-1 Ajax London

Pirates Park, Bristol, England

Defenders' own goals were enough to see the Bristol Pirates and Ajax London draw the game one-one.

Juan Pablo Gonzalez' headed own-goal put the Pirates in the lead, but in stoppage time a howler from Dougie Strickland - who tried to clear the ball but he scuffed it and it landed in the back of the net - cost Bristol two points more than what they actually got.

Magic 0-2 Glasgow FC

Monday 5th May - MLF Round 8
Old Trafford, Manchester, England

Goals from Scott MacRae and Steve Van Hefflen won the game for Glasgow FC.

Mighty Mice 1-0 Ruckus

Monday 5th May - MLF Round 8
Triple M Stadium, Kirkby, Merseyside, England

Guenther Hessler scored a contender for Goal of the Season after Merseyside beat the in-form Reading Ruckus one-nil.

German Hessler hit a 40 yard belter over the Chris Kolinski - who was already in his net; you might even say it could be a contender for Howler of the Season for the young England CSA back-up keeper.

Real Birmingham 1-0 Knights

Monday 5th May - MLF Round 8
Muller Park, Birmingham, England

Real Birmingham opened up Muller Park with a 1-0 win over the East Anglia Knights.

Danny Doblado's volley was enough to see the game off.

Eagles 2-2 Fire

Monday 5th May - MLF Round 8
Murrayfield, Edinburgh, Scotland

Edinburgh Eagles and Nottingham Fire drew 2-2 in a battle of MLF's worst two teams.

Clint van den Bergh got the Eagles' goals while Sebastian Lacroix scored both of the Fire's goals.

Druids 1-0 Dragons

Monday 5th May - MLF Round 8
Croke Park, Dublin, Ireland

Steve Berry's deflected strike saw Dublin Druids beat Cardiff Dragons one-nil.

Stevie B's free-kick came heavily off John W. Jones and into the net past a bemused Kevin Jones.

Strikers 1-1 Lightning

Monday 5th May - MLF Round 8: The Yorkshire Derby
Hillsborough, Sheffield, England

Sheffield Strikers and Leeds Lightning drew 1-1 at Hillsborough.

Kevin Henderson put Sheffield in the lead before Danny Rivera equalized for the Lightning.

Handbags erupted at the final whistle and a riot between Strikers and Lightning fans soon occured.
