The Edinburgh Eagles were totally outclassed as London United continued their amazing winning run to go on top of the MLF table.

Ian Parker's jinking run stunned the Eagles and he crossed for Neil Boyle, who powerfully headed it home.

The Eagles could have been 1-1 though, had it not been for world-class defending by United rookie John Macdonald.

Tony McClean played in Bobby MacGuire and he chipped it over Steven Knott, but young 20-year-old center-half Macdonald rushed in the nick of time to clear it off the line.

The 6'3" mullet-haired Londoner punched the air like he had scored a goal and we can be sure that he will be playing that moment on his VCR over and over again.

And then rookie left-back Ashton Reid struck a pose for the cameras after he headed off the line from David Perry-Taylor.

Parker's magic worked again when he found Belgian wonder Jean Croussant then played a delightful through-ball for Edward Redwood who hit an unstoppable volley past Eagles 'keeper Danny "Escuba" Escubaricaski.

Redsy's strike, according to the MLF on TOTV Shot Radar, travelled at 82 mph. The wunderkind then did his trademark 'rifle' celebration and it clearly meant that the opposition's hopes of a comeback were shot and killed.

Edinburgh's frustration was later compounded after Dougie Tennant was sent off for abusive language straight after he was shown a yellow card for a hard tackle on Rodrigo Santos.

And it was in fact the Brazilian Santos who scored the third after a quality 35-yard strike after he saw England CSA international Escuba off his line. Rodrigo did his Samba dancing, and all the other United players joined in.

There was confusion in the fourth goal, Mark Strickland and John Macdonald both went to head the ball and it landed in back of the net, but did not know who scored. Replays showed that Strickland got a head to it more and the goal was eventually credited to 'Da Skippah'.
