The Nottingham Fire got their first win of the season with a Sebastien Lacroix goal.

Reading Ruckus striker Stefan Shanahan returned back to his old place, where he played from 2000-01 and 2007.

The Fire were looking for their first point of the season after having their worst-ever start losing all five of their first games and under-fire manager Dick Thomas, who only took the hotseat preseason, got three points to keep his job alive.
